The North Limestone Community Development Corporation (NoLi CDC) will host a Halloween edition of the ‘Night Market’ on October 25th, from 7pm -11pm on Bryan Avenue (between N. Limestone and E. Loudon Ave). The event is free and open to the public. It will include a pumpkin patch, hayrides from Sprocket Jockey Pedicabs, a costume contest, and music by The Young Heirlooms and Idiot Glee. The Night Market is a monthly pop-up festival featuring local makers who are connected to the North Limestone (NoLi) neighborhood of Lexington.

Lighting of the Pumpkins at Old Morrison at (the appropriately named) Transylvania University, 7 pm, October 28, 2013. (Transy Trick or Treat will be part of the festivities as well.)

October’s Horror Classics series continues at the Farish Theatre in the Lexington Public Library downtown with The Mummy.

Lexington’s official trick-or-treat hours for 2013 will be 6 pm to 8 pm on Halloween, October 31.

Some central Kentucky towns  have postponed trick or treating til Friday (Danville, Paris) to accommodate the stormy forecast.  According to a press release from the mayor’s office, “Trick or Treat in Lexington will remain on Thursday, barring extreme weather. Hours will be 6-8 p.m. Mayor Gray says, “There are many alternatives for indoor trick-or-treating.”

Trick or treat in Lexington has now been moved to Friday, November 1, 6 pm to 8 pm, per the Mayor’s office.

Wonder Twin Powers: Activate. Form of… Superhero costume party, Al’s Bar.

The midnight movie at the Kentucky Theatre on Halloween will be the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Living Arts and Science Center’s annual Day of the Dead Festival.

Didn’t get enough Thriller on Saturday? Try the Tribe Called Lex’s Thriller tribute at Al’s Bar, with zombie costume contest.

Didn’t get to dress up enough? Horseshoes Kentucky Grill is hosting a Halloween costume bash on November 1 (free admission with costume until 9 pm). Prizes for spookiest and funniest.  (Grand prize, $500.)
