Music: St. John’s Passion, First Presbyterian

The Kentucky Bach Choir presents St. John’s Passion at First Presbyterian Church of Lexington on March 27 at 7:30 pm.

“The Kentucky Bach Choir, featuring Robert Petillo in the role of the Evangelist, will be performing the St. John Passion by Johann Sebastian Bach on March 27, 2015 in Music for Mission concert to benefit the Central Music Academy. 

This concert will also feature past Kentucky Bach Choir Vocal Competition winners Conor Angell (bass soloist, Jesus) and soprano soloist Marie-France Duclos; and UK Opera Theatre standout Christopher Baker (bass soloist, Pilate). University of Kentucky professor of musicology Dr. Ben Arnold will be presenting a short informative lecture on the St. John Passion prior to the start of the concert. The pre-concert lecture will be presented at 6:15 p.m. in the Chapel at First Presbyterian Church.”
