At 7 p.m. tonight (Tuesday, May 12), in the lower level conference room at the Main Public Library, 140 E. Main St., Lexington’s Division of Historic Preservation will present its Downtown Lexington Building Inventory for public comment and review.

This building-by-building inventory covers 34 downtown blocks and hundreds of structures. The inventory categorizes each structure, using criteria that have long been used in the historic preservation field to make determinations regarding the importance of buildings.

The goal is to develop a document that can serve as baseline as the community makes preservation decisions. The meeting is open to the public and members of the public are invited to comment on this inventory and on other historic preservation issues. Info, LexCall 3-1-1.
