Restaurant RIP: Louisville’s Lynn’s Paradise Cafe closes suddenly, shockingly

No more Bourbon Ball French toast?!

Louisville news outlets are reporting this morning that the extraordinarily popular Lynn’s Paradise Cafe has closed its doors, and served its last meal yesterday, Friday, January 11, 2013. The Barrett Avenue anchor in Louisville’s Highlands neighborhood was perennially voted Best Brunch spot in Louisville, and faced off against Bobby Flay in a throwdown. They kicked off New Year’s Day a few weeks ago with a Pajama Party. The Hoppin Johns and Hot Browns were quirky takes on classics.

The restaurant had skirmished with former employees and a labor group, Kentucky Jobs with Justice, but does not comment on individual personnel issues.

Louisville’s WAVE reporting owner Lynn Winter’s statement:

“Thank you to all of our loyal customers and faithful employees for making it possible to a run a 22-year business. It’s been a great run and we’ve had a ton of fun. The time has come to move on to new creative ventures.”

A facebook group, “Save Lynn’s Paradise Cafe,” was immediately formed.
