Best Bites: New JDI opens in Lexington, Wines on Vine adds flight night

The new JDI is at the corner of Cedar and Broadway.

The new JDI Grille and Tavern, at the corner of Cedar and Broadway, downtown Lexington, will open this weekend (March 1, 2013).  The original Jefferson Davis Inn (JDI) was originally located at West High and Limestone, where Jefferson Davis lived while attending Transylvania University. It was a popular bar and local music venue until it closed in 1996.  The new JDI will offer southern pub food (pulled pork, chicken and waffles, a JDI burger, funnel cake fries, bananas foster waffles), a dozen draft beers, and seventy choices of Kentucky bourbon.

Wines on Vine has added a wine Flight Night on Mondays. For a complete lineup and to RSVP, call 859-243-0017.
