What’s open, what’s closed for Columbus Day 2016?

Monday October 10, 2016  is Columbus Day in the United States and that means you may run into a couple closings as some places observe the holiday for a three day weekend.

Here is a list of what is open and closed in Lexington:

Government: Federal offices closed, city and state offices open

Courts: U.S. District and bankruptcy courts closed, all others open

U.S. Postal Service: No regular mail delivery, pickup or post office retail services

Libraries: Open

Health Department: Open

Lextran: Open and on regular schedule

City garbage: Open with normal collection

Federal Express and UPS pick up and drop off on regular schedules during Columbus Day.
