In 2018, the big display for Fourth of July was at the Big Blue building downtown. Where are the fireworks going off this year?

The Fourth of July fireworks are being set off at the R.J. Corman Railroad Co. property in downtown Lexington near W. Main Street and Oliver Lewis Way.

“We will be shooting off the fireworks that light up the sky downtown thanks to R. J. Corman Railroad Co., which is once again letting us use their property as the launch site,” Mayor Linda Gorton said. “And thanks to Ball Homes and Central Bank, presenting sponsors for Lexington’s Fourth of July Festival. We are so thankful for these great corporate partners!”

The Mayor’s Office and R.J. Corman have been in discussion about where to set the fireworks off for the past few months. The two groups decided to return the display to the R.J. Corman property. The show will again be produced by Zambelli Fireworks.

Ed Quinn, President and CEO of R. J. Corman Railroad Group, said, “We are excited to work with Ball Homes, Central Bank, and the City to bring the fireworks back downtown, and provide a safe launch site that gives the citizens of the greater Lexington community the opportunity to celebrate such an important day for our nation. Our company has a strong presence in Central Kentucky, and are honored to give support back to the community that supports us and our business every day.”
