Lexington’s 7th Annual MLK Day of Service

On Monday, January 20, 2020 the Town of Lexington will commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with its 7th annual family-friendly day of volunteer activities from 9 am until 5 pm.

Events begin at 9 am with a Community Dialogue on Race at Grace Chapel. This year’s topic is “The Necessity of Discussing Race and Racism with Your Family at Home.”

​At 11 am, gather by the Minuteman Statue at the Lexington Green and participate in the traditional Unity Walk to Cary Memorial Hall.

​The Opening Ceremony begins at 11:15 am, where performers including Lexington literary performer Regie O’Hare Gibson and the SNAP Sing Along Chorus, will share the spirit of Dr. King’s legacy and kick off the day’s service/volunteer opportunities.
