Savory Cycle

September 28, 2014 @ 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

“What is it? Progressive “Meal” + “Metric” Century (a metric century is a 100km bicycle ride, roughly 62 miles, our route will be roughly 65 miles)

Why? Celebrate the thriving local food and beverage culture. Contribute to the vibrant bicycling scene. Raise awareness and money for Broke Spoke Community Bike Shop.

Route and Pace: The route will be open to normal traffic. We will provide ride cue sheets and have the course marked along the way for easy navigation. Your pace is up to you, we encourage you to not make this a speed or “training” ride but to slow down, enjoy the beautiful bluegrass and your companions. However, we do ask that you be respectful and that you work to make each stop during the allotted window of time. If you get done a bit early, enjoy a beer at West Sixth prior to dinner service. We think it will work best if you average 13 mph during the ride.

Route Support: Along the route at each stop we will have extra nutrition, water, general bike tools, pump, and emergency supplies such as suntan lotion, etc. Additionally, we will have a sag wagon (broomwagon) in case someone has difficulty with the distance, is too far behind, or has mechanical problems.

Helmets are required.
