Yuengling arrives in the Bluegrass

It took 189 years but America’s Oldest Brewery finally arrived in the Bluegrass. Fans of the Pennsylvania-based brewery can now purchase Yuengling beers, Lager, Light Lager and Black & Tan, in the state of Kentucky.

  • Traditional Lager: rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor, has a subtle sweetness with a combination of cluster and cascade hops.
  • Light Lager: developed to maintain the full
flavor profile akin to the brand’s Lager, but only 99 calories per 12oz serving.
  • Black & Tan: combines Dark Brewed Porter and Premium Beer to create a brew rich and dark in color, with hints of Carmel and coffee from the dark roasted malts.

Beginning March 5, Yuengling fans can order their favorite draft brewed beer on-premise at restaurants and bars. Starting March 12, Yuengling packaged beer products will be available off-premise at beer distributors, grocery, and convenience stores.

The brewery is a fifth generation, American owned and family operated company that started in Pottsville, Pennsylvania in 1829. Current president Richard “Dick” Yuengling is also the active owner and his four daughters currently work for Yuengling as well. They will be the sixth generation managing the brewery.

“The expansion into the great state of Kentucky is long overdue,” Richard Yuengling said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to bring our beer to our patiently waiting fans who have been requesting our brand for years.”

Kentucky becomes the 22nd state to sell and distribute Yuengling brand beers.
